Sankul Capital Services draws its inspiration from Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, popularly known as SKDRDP. It is a charitable trust promoted by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade. SKDRDP concentrates on the empowerment of people by organizing Self-help Groups (SHGs) on the lines of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) and provides infrastructure and finance through micro credit for the rural people.
SKDRDP has developed a sustainable model of financial intermediation while focussing on transformation of the society. Their services include lifelong support to the poor families for annual credit plan, training and capacity building for financial and non-financial activities, livelihood promotion, village markets for milk producer cooperatives, schools, water bodies, clean energy, clean drinking water, prevention of alcoholism, agricultural equipment bank etc.SKDRDP’s several key interventions have transformed rural Karnataka and we aim to do the same in Haryana and Nothern India.
SKDRDP as a BC and BF : SKDRDP took an active part in implementing the financial inclusion plan of the government of India by working as Banking Business Correspondent and Business Facilitator (BC and BF) in all the areas of its operation. Under the programme SKDRDP is promoting Self Help groups, enabling the poor people in the remote villages to access banking facilities at their door steps. SKDRDP is BC and BF to State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Canara Bank, IDBI bank, Karnataka Grameena Bank and Bank Of Baroda.
Sankul Capital Services aims to replicate the SKDRDP, Dharmasthala model in Haryana’s Palwal district on a pilot basis and gradually scale it up across the country and abroad.
